Dear readers,
On this September 11, when one’s thoughts may go to “darker” places, I thought I would formulate and write out some of what I personally believe, from an artist’s point of view.
I believe in helping individuals become responsive to beauty in all its forms.
I believe in: focus, perception, affect, cognition, and the cultural matrix.
I believe in man’s capacity to develop expression through the arts.
I believe in interdisciplinary study.
I believe in time “inwardly lived” as compared with time measured by the clock.
I believe in the need for continuing questioning and reflective choosing.
I commit to investigating today’s concepts, not just yesterday’s.
And finally, I believe a short period of bliss may be as valuable as a long, dull life.
